What the court heard
He pleaded guilty to murder and rape in Stoke-on-Trent, Staffordshire, on 20 April 2019. He had been drinking and had taken drugs when his 18-year-old victim, who he knew from school, offered him a place to sleep. He attacked his victim and raped her in her flat before he strangled her and stabbed her multiple times. His victim died at the scene.
