What the court heard
He was found guilty of murder in Widnes, Cheshire, on 11 August 2019. He had pleaded guilty to manslaughter on the grounds of diminished responsibility. He was barred form a pub (the Hammer and Pincers) when he argued with the landlord outside the pub and stabbed him multiple times to the chest. His 49-year-old victim suffered a wound which pierced his heart and he died at the scene.
