What the court heard
He pleaded guilty to attempted murder in Alnwick, Northumberland, on 26 December 2018. He was found guilty of wounding with intent to cause grievous bodily harm (GBH). He had been in a relationship with his female victim when he went to the home she shared with her partner and stabbed him to the neck. He then stabbed her repeatedly to the neck and face. The judge said: "You blistered your hand with the handle of the knife by repeatedly stabbing at your victim ... Only when she was lying motionless... did you leave ... she is lucky to be alive"
