What the court heard
He pleaded guilty to manslaughter on the grounds of diminished responsibility in Perry Barr, West Midlands, on 17 August 2019. He had suffered with depression and his business was in serious financial trouble when he arranged to meet his victim, a friend and work colleague, at a property managed by the company. He attacked his 62-year-old victim with a knife during an argument. His victim died at the scene. The judge said: "Exactly what happened in the house ... is not known... What is clear from the evidence is that you launched a savage and brutal attack upon her using a large carving knife from the kitchen of the property stabbing her five times"
