What the court heard
She was found guilty (retrial) of murder in Leicester, Leicestershire, on 27 March 2016. She stabbed her 26-year-old boyfriend with a steak knife following a drunken row. Her victim suffered a stab wound which punctured his heart. He died later in hospital. The judge said: "Had it not been for the statutory limitation on the court's powers, the minimum term would have been in excess of that previously imposed upon you" Update 29 July 2022 [2022] EWCA Crim 1064: Appeal against conviction and renewed application for leave to appeal against sentence are both dismissed.
