What the court heard
He was found guilty of murder in Reigate, Surrey, on 21 June 2020. He had pleaded guilty to manslaughter by reason of diminished responsibility. The judge said: "The attack was unprovoked ... The jury rejected the defence that you were experiencing a psychotic episode but I accept that a mental disorder has affected your life for over 20 years"
