What the court heard
She was found guilty (retrial) of manslaughter in Birmingham, West Midlands, on 23 February 2019. She was originally sentenced to 18-years imprisonment after she was found guilty of manslaughter and not guilty of murder. The sentence was quashed after the Court of Appeal found that there was a question as to whether the jury could have been certain she was not acting in self-defence.
