What the court heard
She was found guilty of manslaughter by gross negligence in Birmingham, West Midlands, on 26 November 2017. She pleaded guilty to child cruelty by wilful neglect and wilful ill-treatment. She ill-treated her 7-year-old asthmatic son by exposing him to heroin and crack cocaine and neglected him by failing to provide proper medical supervision in a manner likely to cause him unnecessary suffering or injury to health. Her victim suffered a fatal asthma attack and died in the garden of his home after being left alone at night.
